Two Hospitals Cease Emergency Service Transports After Ransomware Attacks

The Ohio Valley Medical Center and East Ohio Regional Hospital, both owned by parent company Ohio Valley Health Services & Education Corporation, ceased emergency service transports after suffering ransomware attacks last Friday. The hospitals said that no patient data had been compromised and IT employees were working to address the attacks. They also said that they were switching to a paper charting system to protect patient data and were accepting walk-in patients only.
