Facebook Bug May Have Exposed Private Photos of 6.8 Million Users
MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

Facebook has identified a bug that may have exposed the private photos of up to 6.8 million users. The bug allowed around 1,500 software applications to access private photos for 12 days until 25 September. The bug affected users who give third-party applications permission to access their photos. The Irish Data Protection Commissioner, the lead regulator of Facebook in the Europe Union, is investigating the glitch to determine whether Facebook has complied with strict new EU privacy rules.
